The Note 2 Yahoo! mail app is able to notify you of an incoming email by flashing a light on top the device and not just by displaying an icon on the notify bar.
The Treo 650-700 series calendar event alarm flashed a similar light and the whole setup was very useful.
I've had wifi issues since I purchased my htc one x for AT&T in may. I have had the hone replaced and the issue was never resolved and I'm kid of fed up with it for the fact that everyone I know who has an android device other then a one x don't have these issues.
I am writing a wifi-direct application for Android. I am trying to make a socket connection to a device. Since the group owner intent function doesn't seem to work (it just assigns randomly it appears) I have to find a way to transfer the clients IP address to the host. The only address I know of is the host device which comes in the group info object that WifiP2pManager can get me.
I am attempting to create a peer-to-peer connection between two machines like the guy mentioned here: is it possible to direct connect a client and server with 10GBASE CX4 copper cables?
