Recently, however, mixed in among the many "Top 10" lists and "10 Ways to ..." articles out there was one that seemed worthy of attention. "10 Characteristics of a Linux Guru?" was the title of the post, which came from DaniWeb's Ken Hess. "I've known many knowledgeable people over the years but never have I met an actual guru," Hess began. "I've worked with Linux since 1995 and still wouldn't call myself a guru," he added. (General)

Holy bejeezum, I just realized I made guru status!

I think I should be happy about it, but I find myself debating if I liked the engineer title better...

Anyway, here's to keeping the data stream flowing. :D

Electronics Weekly: “In addition to designing real-time Linux, MontaVista has been working on the development of real-fast Linux, a Linux operating system that boots Click Here! in less than 1 second.”

Linux Pro Magazine: “At the Open Source Forum of CeBIT 2010, the Linux Foundation’s Jim Zemlin named three reasons for Linux’s success. He also identified three possible challenges for the free platform.”

Android code was stripped out of the last Linux kernel release because Google failed to provide necessary updates. As a result, a controversy blew up with many in the open source community claiming that Google had forked Linux.

Google’s Android code will assume its rightful place in the Linux kernel — in good time, the company’s top open source guru says. The Android code was stripped out of the last kernel release, version 2.6.33, after Google reportedly failed to provide necessary changes and subsystem code required by kernel.org.
