Okay, so I've made a Bootable USB Stick using theese instructions: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows
Now I have no idea what to do next to install it. Please help
I am looking at this:
I need to create a boot disk to test Ubuntu to make sure it will run on a PC (Compaq Mini CQ10-120LA) I was given. I can create the boot disk off of a Mac (in English) or Windows (but Windows is in Spanish and foreign to me).
1) What format do I choose for the USB stick?
I've downloaded the Ubuntu 12.10 iso and followed the instructions on http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows. After I tried the usb disk I got to the Ubuntu live menu, but after choosing run live ubuntu the systems freezes and restarts itself. I've tried this on a Lenovo T61p, an HP pavilion and an Acer Aspire One; all the same results.
The following steps provide two methods of putting the fresh new release of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx) on a USB stick. The first method will create a bootable USB stick with a live version and the second process will create a live version with persistence.
I've just installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and after a little work, I found out I want to have it dualbooting with Windows 7. After more work, the forums and posts say it's a good idea to have Windows on first, then add Ubuntu.
