I've successfully rooted my 1st gen Kindle Fire, and I'm mostly happy with how everything is working. The only problem I'm having is that now that it's rooted I'm no longer able to access books purchased from Amazon through the Kindle app as the device will no longer register. Is there any way around this, or do you forfeit the Kindle app for the joys of everything else when rooting?
Hi all,
Earlier yesterday i carried out the rooting procedure that was outlined on Liliputing using the kindle fire utility, the kindle was shown as online, the rooting procedure went without a hitch, i then went to the extras section and installed google play.
I then unplugged the device from my computer and restarted it as described.
I have rooted a Kindle Fire (my own) before. A friend wanted me to root his. I tried a new method (Kindle Water.) But the application crashed now the Fire has the FIREFIREFIRE bootloader but nothing else. There is still root protection.
The Kindle Fire 2 is now a part of the 7" Kindle Fire HD forum.
In terms of software, the Kindle Fire 2 is much closer to the 7" Kindle Fire HD than the original Kindle Fire. The two are similarly equipped with locked bootloaders, run ICS and share the same rooting method. Consequently, the KF2 has now been made a part of this 7" KF HD forum.
As title suggests, prior to rooting the Kindle and flashing JB 4.4.2 I was able to access the Kindle via the ADB.
I am working on rooting my Kindle Fire. I have followed the instructions at Android Authority based on a reference from someone that performed a Kindle Fire root successfully.
I followed the instructions, my computer sees my Kindle and I was able to see it from my command prompt.
Once I run SuperOneClick, it runs to "Shell rooting device...-Step #7 and stops.

I just received my kindle as a present, and I absolutely adore it....a few problems....no flash, and spotify keeps damn crashing since the development for the kindle for it is utter crap!
Before I buy a Kindle Fire I wish to know if it is possible to use it to stream MP3
I have a very large collection of Music (all Genre) on a HDD connected to my WiFI router and I want to be able to select and play it (through HiFi system) with a Kindle Fire.
To achieve this I need an App that is similar to MediaMonkey Pro AND an App that allows me to connect to the Kindle remotely from eith
Hey guys I'm a newbie here and I am probably way over my head but I have an issue. I did something stupid and edited some build props to try to get a game to work. Now when I start my kindle its stuck on "starting applications: updating kindle". Like I said I'm really new to all this rooting stuff and even just android products.
