Hello.
I want to buy a new graphic card for my desktop PC. Some friends advised to me the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, and I want to know if that card has problems with Linux due to its drivers.
Because I had problems with the wifi drivers some years ago, and I don't want to have the same problem with another hardware.
My current graphic card is an Intel 82945G Express Chipset.
Hey guys,
I'm going through some sort of most weirdest problem here.
During and after installing Ubuntu 12.04.1 x64 LTS. My NVIDIA - 9600GT Graphic card's Cooling fan rotates on the most high RPM and that is obvious to install Graphic Card's drivers to slow it down.
When I install graphic card's drivers, I am not able to boot into Ubuntu again.
First of all :i'm a unfamiliar when it comes to ubuntu or any other linux distros..
Question backround: I installed ubuntu 12.10 on my external hard drive.

The card is an Intel Mobile Graphic Media Accelerator X3100
In the System --> Administration --> Hardware Drivers, I get the information that no proprietary driver is installed or being used.
I read almost all the questions regarding 3d desktop cube effect but every time they say that a graphic card is required. Now how can i do it without a graphic card in 12.10 because i dont have a graphic card...
I followed this link
