Finally, I'm getting rid of Windows 8. I have both Ubuntu and Windows 8 in a dual boot environment (UEFI).
Is there a way to completely wipe all the data from the hard drive? I have access to Ubuntu, but not to Windows as I always get an error.
I'd like to wipe everything including Ubuntu itself from the hard drive and make a clean install of Ubuntu again.
I've read some other posts where this has caused a certain amount of controversy but no post seemed to actually answer the question..

I have flashed dozens of custom ROMs in the past and what normally happens is my external SD card contents remains safe, this still
there are different apps available to remotely wipe data from your stolen/snatched smart phone or to locate your smartphone, but as far as my research is concern, all apps required a text msg to be sent to activate the app and perform the operation. i need to know if there is any app available that can wipe data(atleast) even with no SIM or changed SIM?
