Webtop discontinued?

http://forum.xda-developers.com – I don't currently own a Webtop enabled phone but I have wanted one for a while now. I am on Sprint and have a SERO account which I would like to hang onto so when I heard about the Motorola Photon Q I watched it with a lot of interest. As more info kept being released I got more and more disappointed. Finally I noticed that the phone won't come with Webtop. Seems strange considering it is going to be priced like a high-end phone yet it is missing a relatively important feature most high-end Motorola phones have. Even the Atrix HD won't have Webtop but according to Motorola they didn't inclu (HowTos)

Is webtop working on the Photon Q, or is true that Google told Motorola to not included in this phone.

Despite having been such a groundbreaking platform, the days of using a laptop dock are coming to an end. In a statement made earlier today, Motorola has announced its plans to kill of its Webtop program and line of laptop docks, first unveiled alongside the Atrix 4G at CES 2011.

In the no shocker news for today, Motorola and Google has put an end to Webtop’s misery. Motorola has either announced or released a few phones lately, and you never heard a word about Webtop or the Lapdocks. Verizon is actually unloading the Lapdock 100′s for $50. Some people actually think the latest version (3.0) was pretty good, but I have to be honest, I never used it.

  Somewhere out there are a handful of Motorola DROID RAZR smartphones with a leaked Android 4.0 build. In addition to the standard frills of ICS, there was mention of updated WebTop software in the form of WebTop 3.0 Beta.

Motorola has confirmed that Webtop, technology that allowed some of its Android smartphones to be docked to a PC, notebook or TV hub, is dead. Cause of death listed is weak adoption, but cost cuts are also likely to be a reason.

Im using Multimedia HD Dock and the most important resolution for me is 1080p but in Webtop its scaled to 720p. TV (tested on several TVs new high-end) sees this as an actual native resolution FullHD while it's still HD. In the previous version was the ability to set Webtop true 1080p and there by an official source is off (https://motorola-global-portal.custh...ay-resolutions).

When I first saw the Motorola Atrix HD’s landing page which revealed its full specs, I was mildly surprised to see no mention of a lapdock accessory.

I may sell my bionic, any offers???

First off, I walk away and the music disconnects on my bluetooth headset when the screen goes to sleep.

Second, I can no longer BLOG with even the mobile browsers..

F*ck you Motorola...

They might as well just offer the mirror mode only!
