Webcam microphone not working

http://forums.opensuse.org – Am able to use krecord to record audio when using the headset mike plugged into the sound card, but am unable to get the webcam mike working. Have used KMix to set USB 2.0 camera audio level up, with and without checking the Capture box. No joy. Suggestions? (Distributions)

Using 12.04. My microphone is not working, so I'm unable to use my headset microphone with the program Audio-Recorder. However the microphone part of my Logitech Pro 9000 webcam works correctly. I'm working with a Dell Inspiron B130. Adding line options snd-hda-intel model=laptop-amic to alsa-base.conf as suggested in another post was made without success.

This is making me crazy.

After upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10, Skype 4.1.0.20 doesn't allow me to use the webcam in calls anymore.

OS: Ubuntu 12.04 installed with virtualbox on Windows 7 Headset: Mic plantronics audio 400 DSP

Issues: I cannot use the MIC but I can hear sound from the headset without problems.

Here is the sound settings:

selected Output: LFE on Separate Mono Ouput/Amplifier Buit-in Audio

Input options: Vido built-in audio analog input built-in audio line in built-in audio microphone/microphone

i have an early dell pc p4 running ubuntu 10.04. my daughter and family have moved out of the country so i have set up skype. i have tried to set up a headset via the usb port with no luck. it does work when plugged into the sound card jacks. i just received a web cam with built in mic that is usb only. the camera works but like the headset no audio..is there a fix for this condition?

Does anybody have an external microphone working with an HP Mini 210HD via the headset jack?

I'm using the out-of-the-box sound setup (ALSA, nothing else).

After a fair amount of horsing around, I succeeded in getting Skype 2.1.0.47 to work on pulseaudio on 11.1/KDE. The most persistent problem was getting the webcam mike to work, which I solved by running pavucontrol and selecting the webcam mike there.

I have been trying for a while to get sound working, but have had no luck so far. Under System->Preferences->Sound, I see under the "Hardware" tab:

0802 (my webcam microphone) Internal Audio [SB X-FI Xtreme Audio] CA0110-IBG

I'm running the latest version of Ubuntu, and I have a Dell Sp2009wfd monitor with built in microphone and webcam. I've gotten the microphone working on mumble and on sound recorder, and I've gotten the webcam to work on Cheese...but it WON'T work through the flash player//website webcam things. I -have- the flash plugin, and I have drivers installed for my video card.
