Accidentally dropped my phone into water. I pulled it out and dried it off as much as I could, took out the SIM card and removed the back. It's now sitting in a bag of rice by the vent in my laptop.
I have two main questions:
1. Where are the water damage indicators? I've been looking for them and I can't find them
2. Is it really impossible for me to remove the battery?
Not too sure how to work this site yet so I apologize if this is in the wrong place. Yesterday my phone dropped into water for less than 2 seconds, the water damage indicators are still white. My phone was working up until late last night when the screen was tinted green and flashes on and off continuously.
Hi there. I'm going to try to keep this brief, because there's a lot going on.
Basically, my friend used to have a Droid Pro. She wants some important texts off the phone.. Problem is, she dropped the phone in water and it's messed up.
I know we've done the "I dropped my phone in water O please help me" side to this with little good luck of working phone after the fact but today one has come to light and lives.
So has I was walking in to work I pulled My 2 year old Ally (rooted, Romed, and ext. battery) from my pocket and BAMMM, dropped it in a sink hole full of water.
So I forgot to plug in my phone the other night and the battery got completely drained. I plugged it in the next morning, and nothing turned on, no charging display on the screen, no LED, nothing. Left it plugged in for 24 hours, nothing.
Putting this in the All Things Root section simply because, well, I'm rooted. I can't help but hope the issues I'm having may have to do with the custom ROM I am using (Angry Bean) and not water damage. Anyhow, I was at the beach a couple of days ago and taking pictures with the phone, in the surf up to my knees.
So i was wondering if my phone could be damage from finger being too wet. I pressed the home button earlier and saw like 2 droplet of water near it due to not drying my hands good enough after washing it. The phone is working perfectly fine atm but would like to know if this situation should be avoided or does it take alot more than that to cause water damage to the phone.
So here is the scenario:
last year i upgraded from the EVO 4g to the EVO 3D. with in the thirty days my phone had weird software issues so i got a brand new replacement for free through the store after talking with a sprint rep. two weeks after that i dropped the phone and the outer metal ring bent. i lived with it until about 2 months ago when i took it off completely.
Hi all
My other half has just rung Vodafone to see what's going on with my non-working nexus. They said its on its way back but can not be repaired due to water ingress! I don't believe this for 1 minute, its never seen water or steam!
I have had loads of problems with this phone, soon after I got it the charging port went crazy and it thought it was on charge all the time.
