This simple and brief tutorial will show you how to install the Lock Keys indicator in Ubuntu using ppa. If your Ubuntu laptop doesn’t have any LED indicators for the lock keys, it may be useful.
I went through Ubuntu's system settings to change caps lock -> control.
I used to be able to press + + in order to navigate backwards through tabs in web browsers. However, I recently switched to a goldtouch keyboard and this key combination does not seem to work. (though the caps lock still functions as control, the combination of the three keys does not seem to register).
Using the command line, how can I turn on my Scroll Lock led?
I use Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
I tried xset led named "Scroll Lock" but nothing happened.
xset q says the led is on, but no light is on...
I need this to configure the KGMailNotifier to turn on this led when a e-mail comes to me.
Edit:
setleds -D +num
didn't work too...
I'm using the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keyboard with Fedora 18.
Whenever I press the Caps Lock key or the Num Lock key, Fedora stops receiving input from either the keyboard or my mouse.
It does not appear that Fedora is actually frozen, since the cursor continues to blink in certain programs.
Hi, allI was trying to create a small script to send a notification if the Caps Lock is active or not. The script works correctly in the terminal, but when I use the script as a shortcut in KDE it does not work ...
I have a qPad MK-85 mechanical keyboard, and I can't seem to get the LED status indicators for the lock keys to work. The CAPS and NUM lock function still works, but I don't have any indication whether they'r'e on or not.It only seems to be under gnome I have this problem, because they're working just fine in grub, windows, and tty2-6.
I'd like an especially high repeat rate and low delay on my backspace key, but a regular delay and rate on every other key. This command works, but sets it for every key:
xset r rate 120 30
Is there a way to have different settings for individual keys?
I know how to use xmodmap to remap the Caps lock key so it acts as a Control key, or as an Escape key.
I have searched all the forums and found many posts about keyboard repeat rate but none quite like my issue.
I can alter the repeat rate when a key is held down but can find no way to change the delay when repeating the same key stroke, as when typing double letters (allow, see.
