I have gone into settings and tried to set it there, but though the wallpaper option is in it, it does not take, live or still. It happened when I installed the app Multipicture Live Wallpaper.
Ubuntu 13.04 default wallpaper directory is "/usr/share/backgrounds/", Is this correct?
I wrote a code that can add pictures to the directory and create "contest/raring.xml".
But it's does not work. the wallpaper directory has many pictures but i can not choice any picture to wallpaper. "Right-click desktop" -> "Change Desktop Background" ,there only one black wallpaper!
The wallpaper is not seen in full screen. There are black background in the top as well as in the bottom, wallpaper is only in the center. There were no changes done earlier. All other windows opens normally apart from the wallpaper. I don't have the reputation to add images here. Please help.

Hey all. Apologies if this issue is caused by my own incompetence--I am still kind of new to all of this.
Basically my problem is that whenever I change my desktop wallpaper, the lock screen wallpaper won't change with it. Whenever I boot up my laptop, it shows a previously used wallpaper instead, only to return to the wallpaper that I had selected a little after login.
Linux, like other operating systems, has a desktop with a wallpaper. This wallpaper can be customized in many ways. Users can use one wallpaper, or they can make the wallpaper change to one of many wallpapers after a set time. Applications that change the wallpaper after a set time without the user's help is called a wallpaper changer.
I have CM 11 on the nightlies. When I go in to change the wallpaper, regardless of the launcher that I use, I can only set them to either live wallpapers or a wallpaper that I used from my pictures. I am unable to use the default wallpapers that come with Cyanogenmod, Nova, etc.
I recently upgraded from 12.04 to 14.04 and after boot, my desktop will not display wallpaper. This is not a complete black screen - just the lack of wallpaper. Everything else is working fine (menu bars, app bar, cursor, etc.) I have toyed around in the Appearance menu with no success. Any ideas?
