Whenever on AOSP roms I have an issue with some live streaming video sites I visit. I do not seem to have these problems when running a sense rom on the same sites. I was hoping someone could offer some useful advice on what I could try to fix it.
For the last weeks I've been suffering a problem with a Windows 7 laptop formatted only 2 months ago. From time to time the system complete freezes for a minute or so, and then it continues working as if nothing had happened.
My parents watch a lot of ethnic shows via the web (some youtube, mostly weird indian flash heavy sites) and I thought a chromecast would be a nice way to get video on their tv. Unfortunately their 3 year old computer chokes on it (uses underpowered amd chips) so that option's not going to work. Any other suggestions? Do those android sticks have the horsepower for flash?
I reply to myself but I have found the flash video replacer extension to firefox. It is able to launch an external player for flash videos on main site that use flash to play video (youtube, etc...). It works great for these websites and allow me to see high quality mp4 video on youtube with my 5 years old computers using mplayer.
I have been using the firefox extension Download Helper to download videos from youtube for the past few years. However, it has stopped working on youtube - other sites work fine. I installed a couple of other extensions, such as Download Flash and Video, Flash Video Download, and 1-Click Youtube Video Download to no avail.
ja1217 wrote:I think I have been experiencing the same issue as everyone else here. Occasionally Xorg will crash when closing a flash page. As some of you mentioned, I think it has to do with hardware acceleration of flash. You can disable hardware acceleration of flash without disabling hw accell for everything else. Just open up a youtube video (or any flash video), right
