I cannot ssh into an RHEL 5.5 server (192.168.20.104) from another RHEL 5.5 server (192.168.20.101) unless server debug is turned on 192.168.20.104, and even then, I have to wait several minutes before the connection is established.

have a server pre-installed with RHEL5, with 12 SCSI disks being /dev/sda with RHEL5, and managed to put RHEL6 into /dev/sdc

/dev/sda is the first bootable disk on the SCSI chain..

editing /etc/grub.conf would not allow me to boot RHEL6 , the entries seem to be right..

any advices, other than going into the SCSI bios and make /dev/sdc is the first bootable SCSI disk ..

Hi,

We have a OEL6.1 installed on our server. We want developers to view there application logs generated on the server, but doesn't really want to give them access to server machine.

Can someone please suggest how can we configure apache/httpd to create a url which will show all files in particular folder in the client browser...?

Cannot see extra Memory 1 year 3 weeks ago

Hi,

I upgraded the physical memory on my RHEL5 server (BL460cG7) from 32G to 128G. When I rebooted the box I can see from the "hpasmcli" that the 128G memory has installed correctly.

However when I run a "free" command I can only see 64G of physical RAM? Is there a restriction on the max amount of memory a RHEL5 32-bit server can use?

I am writing a shell script to send emails to my company mail id when disk usage on the server exceeds a threshold.

I tried to send email using sendmail on RHEL5. The mail delivery was successful and I received the email in my mailbox. (I didn't configure anything in sendmail.

I'm a beginner in this area, please bare with me if my request is messy.

I need to configure a proxy server 1) which will allow my clients to connect to my proxy server then 2) they will be able to see a login page. when i asked some IT gurus they told me "configure the forwarding url in proxy". how do i achieve this? what kind of proxy i should use ? Please help, thanks in advance.
