So I know there are many ways to change the volume when one is running ALSA. However, I like running PulseAudio, whose volume really shouldn't be changed with an ALSA volume control. So I decided to find a way to change the volume through the command line. I researched and found pactl, which lets the person mute, unmute, and change the volume, among a whole lot of other thin
I've recently upgraded from a HTC One X to a HTC One. I've noticed the volume control isn't as good with the new handset, as the lowest volume setting is still quite loud. With my HTC One X I could put the volume of games down so that it was loud enough for me to hear, but not loud enough to annoy anyone in the vicinity ie my wife lying next to me.
I have no media volume at all. I have tried to turn it up multiple ways. In settings/volumes, media volume is greyed out and wont allow adjustment. I hold down power, media volume showes muted. I click unmute but as soon as i leave options it returns to muted. I have even tried 3rd party volume control apps and get the same thing.
Hello, I need an answer to my troubles. When I turn on the music player I can control the media volume with the volume controls on the side. When I close the media player the volume controls do not go back to controlling the ringer/notification volume (Sound/Vibrate/Mute). Instead they still control the media volume. Any suggestions?
I play my music in mp3 in Rythmbox, but when i try to control the volume nothing happens. The volume is very loud, i have to adjust volume directly from the speaker.
However, when i play mp3 or video from VLC player i am able to control the volume from the player.
Please help.

It looks like Banshee volume control is now tracking the main volume. So changing Banshee's volume changes your system's volume. Except it get's out of sync sometimes and can be a real pain.
Does anyone know how to make them independent like they were in 11.2?
Hi all,
This is my first post :-)
Before logging in, I am able to adjust the volume. However once logged in, it does not work.
I have a Turtle Beach PX3. It's a USB wireless headset. I got the sound working and everything and I can control the volume through the XFCE mixer or the ALSA mixer but I would like to be able to use the physical knob. On Windows 7, it just sends a signal to bump up the volume in the software mixer much like the volume controls on a keyboard would. For the short time I
