hi,
I would like connect to a Fedora linux desktop by using vnc with a couple login/passwd and take the control of the current user session.
I v installed vncserver (tigervnc) and x11vnc.
I v configured an user session in /etc/sysconfig/vncserver and launch vncserver :1 -name user.
I can connect remotly but it's a gui root session.
How take the current user session and see what he do?
th
I'm running Fedora 13 on an ESX 4.1 server.
I've changed /etc/inittab to runlevel 3.
I then installed vncserver.
When searching the web for information about how to configure the default resolution and color depth for RealVNC sessions, I always come across stuff that talks about passing commandline parameters to vncserver, such as vncserver -geometry 1024x768 or something.
Yesterday installed vnc4server package in ubuntu, after that shutdown the system and when tried to login today, unable to login for that user(through which vncserver installed).
Error I'm getting was login page displayed, but unable to login for that user, But able to login from another user.
After searching on the net for a while, tried some soln's from net i.e.
Ok i installed vnc server on RHEL 5.9 and also installed Tightvnc viewer on windows 7 and from RHEL i started vncserver and assigned the password using vncpasswd.
Then from tightvnc viewer i gave the IP and listening port xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1. It successfully connected with VNC server installed and running on RHEL.
Hi,
I have just setup vnc over the LAN using Tigervnc on F12. In general it works beautifully.
One thing I can't find any info on is how to get it to share display :0 , the ultimate objective in this case.,
I am unable to install in Fedora 10 i386. Currently vnc-4.1.2-35.fc10.i386 is installed in the Fedora which is working as a viewer only, I am unable to access the system from other PCs using VNC. Given belwo is the complete error message regarding the said situation:

I decided it was time to upgrade my server from opensuse 11.0 to 11.3. Most everything went well (note that I did a clean install onto a new hard drive even, this was not an upgrade install).
So far I like 11.3 (seems faster even), but there are a couple issues I can't seem to resolve.
