I have used Fedora 9 and 10 very nicely under VMware Workstation running on my Vista laptop.
FC 11 installs just fine. The VMware Tools install into FC 11 without error. You just cannot configure them, since the kernel is so new. The config-vmware-tools.pl script fails.
I have been having trouble with firefox3.5 on my x86_64 FC11 install for a month now...firefox freezes my pc. So I used yum to remove firefox. Now I'm wondering if I could just use another rpm for firefox...could I use the 32 bit version safely? I found the rpm and started doing a local install with yum but it wants these dependencies:
First download the VMware Workstation 7 for your architecture here:

I downloaded:

Hey guys,
I have Vmware Fusion 2.0.6 (196839) running on my MacBook Pro. I installed Fedora 11 on the fusion and it works fine. The only problem that I am having is that when I try to install vmware tools, by runnning ./vmware-install.pl in the terminal, I am prompted with this message:
On fc7-10 I was able to get them going after installing gstreamer packages with yum.
For fc11 I have followed half a dozen guides, installed numerous packages, but can't seem to figure out what is missing.
Anyone know what to install for mp3's on fc11 ?
I noticed some packages are prefixed by a number in /var/log/yum.log:
Code:
Jun 19 10:05:58 Updated: cheese-2.26.2-1.fc11.i586
Jun 19 10:05:59 Updated: gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.11-2.fc11.i586

yum install rhythmbox gstreamer-plugins-ugly gstreamer-plugins-bad gstreamer-ffmpeg

First thing after a clean F11 x86_64 install and "sudo yum install gsynaptics" says:
GConf2-2.26.2-1.fc11.x86_64 from installed has depsolving problems
--> GConf2 conflicts with GConf2-dbus
From the verbose output:
gpointing-device-settings-1.3.1-5.fc11.i586 requires: libgconf-2.so.4
How do I go about removing the old f11 rpm stuff after an upgrade? I have several packages from fc11 that are newer than what is on the fc12 (probably because of updates), so several things still show up as fc11. Why isn't the fc12 updated at least to the newest or newer stuff in fc11?
