It’s official: The VMware vCloud Suite 5.1 is now generally available in three editions – Standard, Advanced and Enterprise. The VMware vCloud Suite is licensed per processor with no core, vRAM or number of VM limits with prices starting at $4,995 per processor.

A couple of weeks ago at VMworld 2012 in San Francisco we announced our vCloud Suite strategy.
Virtualization kingpin VMware (NYSE: VMW), which showcased its vCloud Suite 5.1 integrated cloud infrastructure solution at VMware 2012, now has made it official with the general availability of the Standard, Advanced and Enterprise editions, with licensing pricing starting at $4,995 per processor with no core, vRAM or number of virtual machines limits.
What does it mean for partners?
Amid VMworld Barcelona, VMware (NYSE: VMW) has updated its cloud management portfolio while aggressively promoting the software-defined datacenter vision to channel partners. The updates include vCloud Suite enhancements, and a focus on vCloud Automation Center 5.1 and the IT Business Management Suite.
At VMworld 2012, VMware (NYSE: VMW) unveiled vCloud Suite 5.1, which is designed to help channel partners master software-defined datacenters. VMware Chief Marketing Officer Rick Jackson said the suite integrates the company’s virtualization, cloud infrastructure and management portfolio into a single SKU for partners and customers.
Hosted enterprise IT specialist Savvis has hooked up with VMware (NYSE: VMW) to expand its Enterprise Cloud Ecosystem program to include cloud-ready applications from the virtualization vendor’s newly launched Cloud Applications Marketplace.

Performance management specialist Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD) and virtualization giant VMware (NYSE: VMW) announced the latest step in their partnership to help enterprises move to the cloud with Riverbed wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions, which accelerate virtual machines (VMs) moving between clouds — private, public and hybrid — using VMware vCloud Connector.
Built on VMware
