I am trying to restore RHEL OS (5.3.1.1) from network, where we have VLANs configured on our switches.
So the only way to get to shared folder on remote server with backup image is to configure VLAN.
I booted a machine with Red Hat Recovery CD and ran linux rescue. But in this mode there is no VLAN support.

Are you following the wiki's Wireless Setup guide?Check if the module iwlwifi is loaded: lsmod | grep iwlwifiWith that feedback from lspci i'd say it isn't.Possible problems: you're missing udev or linux-firmware.Again, Arch's wiki is just awesome and if it's not working, you should try looking into it again.Good luck.

I cannot manage to load the tun module in my archlinux box. I'm trying
to connect with openvpn, but the log says
nm-openvpn[6662]: Note: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such device (errno=19)
lsmod | grep tun
returns nothing.
If I run
sudo modprobe tun
it returns failure, but no error message, and lsmod still has no tun.
djgera wrote:again, do you reboot your machine after kernel upgrade?, is loop module loaded? the loop module appears not to be loaded, I have rebooted and it's there now and the mount command works again. Thanks very much. I suspect I left an upgrade going when I left the machine on Friday.
