vividwireless has extended its mobile WiMAX network to areas around the Australian National University and universities of Queensland and Adelaide and says an announcement of funding for large scale rollouts in these cities and in Melbourne and Sydney could be "imminent".
Huawei says the mobile WiMAX network it supplied to Perth based vividwireless is the world's first to use four transmit and receive antennas and beamforming and is able to deliver bandwidths of 36Mbps downstream and 4Mbps upstream 3kms from the base station.
The mobile WiMAX base station supplied by Huawei for the vividwireless networks has become one of the first WiMAX products to receive the WiMAX Forum seal of approval for operation with multiple antennas (MIMO) in the 2.3GHz band.
I have a wimax internet connection. Last day i bought a DLINK DSL 2730U (modem + wifi router) so that i can share my wimax connection to my laptop and my android phone. I connected output from wimax cpe to LAN1 port of new DLINK DSL and LAN2 to my PC, then using yhe web interface of DLINK disabled its DHCP and also enbled its wifi settings. I got internet in my PC through the DLINK LAN port.
I'd like to be able to configure a Raspberry Pi to work as a wifi access point that loads an interface where users can choose the WiFi network to connect to. I've read the guides on how to make an access point, but I need the access point to load a webpage (once connected to the pi) that displays the current wifi networks and the option to connect the raspberry pi to that network.
