I am trying to install drivers for ARM Mali GPU for that I need the linux headers.
sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)
give the following errors. Any clues??

I have compiled kernel 2.6.32 and I compiled it from some directory other than /usr/src,
for example /home/user/active_kernel/
I run these commands to compile kernel >(after setting .config file with make menuconfig)
make
make modules_install
make install

I was following instructions on ubuntu.com regarding how to uncompress and install tarfiles. I attempted to download a file named 'autogen.sh' which the instructions said MIGHT be necessary to help install a tarball.

I'm trying to install a proprietary driver from amd and it says that a version of fglrx is already installed and that i need to uninstall it first but when i try to invoke:
sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev* xorg-driver-fglrx
