Couple of years back I was using Ubuntu installed within Windows 7 OS. Back then Ubuntu version was 10.04.
Today, I downloaded Ubuntu 64-bit Live Disc and when I try to install I do not understand how to install within Windows 7. So, any day later if I need to uninstall Ubuntu I can do by uninstalling via wubi.
Somehow I do not find those options now.
Hey all,
I just installed Ubuntu 12.10 and was trying to install a Windows 8 Virtualbox. I downloaded the 64bit Virtualbox file from virtualbox.org, it then took me to Ubuntu software center where I installed another file virtualbox-4.2.
The program initially wouldn't show up, so I logged out and then it did show up.
I've been having trouble with this for days. I have Ubuntu installed on Virtualbox no problem. I downloaded Freespire 2.0.8 and mounted it on the virtual machine and it will bring up the Freespire instalation menu (Install, Run, Start in Safe Graphics, Boot from first hard disc).
I am trying to start a VM using VirtualBox, however I get the following errors.
I have read many pages on this error (some on this forum) but none of the suggested fixes I have found seem to work. During install, whether using apt-get or a downloaded .deb I get install errors.
I have tried installing VirtualBox 4.1 and 4.2 with the same results.
I have freshly installed 64 bit Win 7 and 12.04 ubuntu dual boot machine (via a wubi install).
I verified that wubi installed 64-bit ubuntu 12.04 and I specifically downloaded and installed the 64-Bit virtualbox package from the virtualbox website located at

I just downloaded the latest version of VirtualBox, and GDebi and the Software Center said that it could not open it because the package was corrupt or broken.
So, I checked the checksums, and they were off, so I redownloaded it.
Now, the Software Center says this:
Code:
Breaks existing package 'virtualbox-4.1' that conflict: 'virtualbox'.
I would like to try out webOS (I have heard and seen a lot of good things about it on the web), however I'm not able to purchase a webOS smartphone. And therefore I downloaded the webOS/Palm emulator. But when I try to start the emulator it says that the emulator only works with Virtualbox 3, 3.1 or 3.2. While I had already 4.2 or 4.1 (can't remember) installed.
I'm brand new to Linux and to EC2, so I'm probably making a stupid mistake. But I've spent over a day on this, so time to ask for help...
I'm trying to get VirtualBox to work on Amazon EC2 so that I can load a virtual image I've downloaded from another site.
I've tried a number of different ways to get VirtualBox going, but nothing works.
Hi, I am running F18 (3.8.7-201.fc18.i686.PAE) with VirtualBox 4.2.12. I downloaded the F19 alpha and set up a virtual machine following the defaults and then started up the machine. I select the i386 alpha ISO I downloaded (which is on my hard drive) and choose the option to install.
I get a white screen and nothing else.
