I installed VirtualBox-4.0.0-69151-Linux_amd64.run and had some problems (I have removed it and gone back to 3.2.12).
My "main" virtual machine is Windows XP which I use for only two applications, Stamps.com and TurboTax 2010. Been working just fine through multiple versions of VirtualBox. My 64-bit server is a Dell Inspiron 1750 with 4G RAM.
I am attempting to install VirtualBox and failing miserably. I am brand new to Ubuntu (and Linux. Just started two days ago.) and want to install VirtualBox to run Windows 7; however, I don't know why it isn't working. I have tried installing it from Oracle's website. Didn't work. I tried uninstalling and re-installing. Didn't work.
Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit
AMD-A3620 APU
8GB of system memory
Gnome 3
So I previously installed VirtualBox on my computer, for the sake of running a Windows 7 virtual machine so I didn't constantly have to restart. Everything worked fine, setup was easy, the VM got installed and running fine but I wanted to be able to use seamless mode and to do that I had to install its Guest Additions.
We just installed Oracle Linux 6.3 on my Virtualbox 4.1.18. The installation was went well and got no errors. Now, we want to show you how to install GuestAdditions on Oracle Linux 6.3. By installing GuestAdditions we will have better screen resolution supports, mouse integration and many others. System used on this tutorial: Oracle Linux [...]
I have a windows 7 64-bit machine in which I have installed VirtualBox and decided to install BackTrack. The installation finished fine, but when it asked me to "please remove installation media and close the tray (if any) then press ENTER" VirtualBox crashes.
I have tried going through the installation process twice but it has crashed both times.
My virtualbox used to work, but now it is for some reason completely FUBAR: every time I try to start a VM, it crashes my host Ubuntu 12.04.1 system, I can't even bring it to reboot with the Magic SysRq key.
Hey, im rather new to linux. The goal is to do:
sudo apt-get install Virtualbox
sudo apt-get virtualbox
sudo aptitude install virtualbox
ive tried all those combinations and they all shoot back the same reply:
sudo: apt-get: command not found
I had a major crash on my ubuntu 12.04.lts computer system.
I had to push the restart button in order to get the computer to run again.
Info: I installed virtualbox latest edition and the extension pack.
It succeeded, but when I tried to import virtual machines into virtualbox,
from a usb hard drive, the system froze.
Hello!
I've done a minimal X11 graphical desktop installation on a 8GB USB drive and then I've installed gnome-shell and all the softwares I need. The whole installation process has been done in VirtualBox and it all went smooth, until I wanted to use the VirtualBox guest additions -VBGA from now on- (for obvious performance reasons in a virtual system).
