I'm trying to install SolusVM/KVM on a server with one 500 GB HD and one 256 SSD. I am a complete beginner at Linux. SolusVM has a script on the site to download and install automatically, but how do I specify to install the script on the 500 GB HD and put the virtual machines on the SSD? And how should my partitioning look like? I want KVM isos and stuff on HD and virtual machines on SSD.
I have 2 virtual machines that can not ping/access one another.
I am setting up a exchange server, and a domain controller as guest machines in virtualbox. All machines including the host are running windows server Datacenter 2008 R2. I have my networking set to "bridged", and static ip's set in both the virtual machines, and host (but not on the network adapters).
I have virtualbox 4.1 on a ubuntu 12.04 host. On my host I have a virtual interface eth0:1 configurend as 10.0.1.1. I have a few virtual machines using bridged adapters, configured in the 10.0.1.0 net which I can reach (ping, ssh, ...) from my host via the virtual interface.
Now I installed an ubuntu server 12.04 in a virtual box, again using bridged adapter, but I can not reach that host.
I'm not sure this is the appropriate forum to post this question to so if it is not, please be kind. It is my goal to set up a virtual machine using Oracle VM VirtualBox which is capable of being accessed by the host through a web page. I'm attempting to use the virtual machine as a Samba server that also runs CUPS.
I got new CENTOS dedicated server from gigenet, It comes with 1 IP address and gateway, I ordered new IPs so they assigned IPs /28 but with new subnet, and same gateway as they said.
How to add these subnet to solusvm KVM bridge?
Is it via br0:1 , route or some thing elese.
Thanks in advance.
I am having issues with a Win XP guest in Virtual Box talking to the host. Seems that pass thru to the web is ok, but when I try to ping or run a ftp program on the guest there is no communiocation to the host. Can ping the guest from the host (FC16) with no problem, so am assuming it is something on the Virtual Box side (most likely). Has anybody run into this and been able to fix it?
I am running a dedicated server (located at Hetzner, Germany) that runs VirtualBox in order to virtualize several services accross multiple virtual guests.
I have just installed a new Hyper-V host machine running Server 2008 R2. Created the first VM (also Server 2008 R2 SP1) and all is working apart from a bizare problem with network packets.
Host machine has two Intel Nic's one is dedicated to Hyper-V and is setup as an "External" network in Virtual Network Manager. It's also removed from the management OS, so dedicated just to Hyper-V.
Do I need to install the HOST/Master control panel to it's own server?
I have one new server which I want to host all the VPS nodes on but I assume I'll need another server on the same private network for this to work
Or can I install and use the same server for the host and the vps nodes?
