http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi all, I'm running Fedora 11 (2.6.30.10-105.2.4.fc11.i686.PAE) 8 GB memory on a AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 965 Processor, 4 core server I just built. The problem I have run into is any virtual machine that has >1024 MB memory assigned to it will not boot. As along as it has 1024 MB or less it boots fine. The symptom you see is a very quick message "Booting from hard disk" the screen then goes blank, you can't login through SSH, and can't ping the network address so I know it's not some crazy video problem hiding the boot process. I have installed F12 from the DVD onto my laptop.

The kernel is vmlinuz-2.6.31.5-127.fc12.i686.PAE

When I boot the machine it starts in what looks like 80x25 mode, and then changes to 160x50.

Please see F12-PAE-boot.jpg for the default boot mode.

:( I cannot see anything hardly, as the text is so small. :(

ever since F11, my old Dell Latitude C610 graphics/video is corrupted and garbled. see attached photos. F12 is the same. it worked fine in F10 and earlier.

the video card is "VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LY"

i have followed what in this link to share my printer to my other windows desktop, but when i try to print from there i see this error in the jobs list

While installing Fedora 12, no devices were found on which to create file system (see attch.).

I get the same message either on Live CD or DVD boot start. It looks like Fedora do not see my hdd. But Palimpsest can see my hard drive (see attch.)

use "free -m" to display memory usage, almost no memory left.

I count the slab memory, using "cat /proc/slabinfo |awk '{sum = sum + $3 * $4} END { print sum/1024/1024/1024 }'", discovery it almost used 22G.

F12 X server crash often 3 years 7 weeks ago

Hello all,

I just upgrade my desktop to F12 and using it for few weeks now..Everything seems working fine except X server crash on me often.

Anybody out there have the same problem?

Need a work around solution for this.

Attattched a copy of Xorg.3.log.old for reference.

My system is as follow: Intel P4 2.26Ghz

When I create a virtual machine in Hyper-V and set it up to use dynamic memory, the virtual machine will always use the maximum memory within the virtualized OS. Hyper-V will show the assigned memory at 514mb, but when I log into the server and pull up task manager, it will show 90% memory used.
