Google’s Vic Gundotra flew to Baltimore yesterday and happily shared a photo he took during his flight on Google+.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard mention of the photo-editing app Snapseed for Android. Even then, it was only demoed for possible release on select Android tablets. It now appears that the award-winning photo editing app will make its way to the Android masses, however a timeline hasn’t been announced.
Google has acquired Nik Software, the company behind Snapseed, the popular Instagram-like photo editing app for desktop and iOS. Besides Snapseed, though, the company also offers numerous other tools for amateur and professional photographers.
Photo editors certainly are not lacking in numbers at the Google Play Store but Snapseed, today’s entry, comes in with the most fanfare since Instagram brought its Lomography inspired filter set & square frames to Android. Apple named Snapseed the iPad App Of The Year for 2011. This year the Technical Image Press Association awarded it with the 2012 Best Mobile Photo App honors.
Google’s Vic Gundotra just announced that, about a year after the service went live, 400,000 people have now activated their Google+ accounts. More importantly, though, Gundotra also notes that Google+ now has more than 100 million monthly active users.
In case you’re still wondering if the Nexus 10 exists, take a look at Vic Gundotra’s Google+ page. As you know, Vic is the senior VP of engineering for Google, and he is posting pictures taken from the said device. It looks like a nice vacation destination, but that’s not the important part. The fact that the camera type says “Nexus 10″ is what matters.
From LinuxBSDos.com.Google has announced that the Google Reader service will not be available after July 1 of this year (2013). The service, which provided a “cloud” portal for aggregating News feeds from several RSS Feed sources, is the latest victim of Google’s spring-cleaning.
Since the spring-cleaning started in 2011.
