Game Developers have been long criticizing Windows 8's new app store model and its strict requirements.
Few days Gabe Newell said that windows 8 is a catastrophe and Blizzard also shared similar views.
Linux platform has made its first appearance on Steam website. Few days back, Valve added a zombie Tux to Left4Dead 2 website announcing that it well head to Linux soon and now a Linux platform filter has been added to Steam Greenlight.
Steam Greenlight is a new initiative by Valve where community votes for games submitted by developers.
Steam for Ubuntu has been finally announced by Valve on its official blog, giving rest to all the rumors that have been circulating in past few months.
In the blog post titled 'Steam'd Penguins', lots of details on their Linux plans were revealed. Valve is looking to strengthen the gaming scene on Linux, both for players and developers.

I run F12. Since some days my laptop has become very sluggish. In Mozilla, switching between the tabs takes like seconds instead of fraction of a second. Also minimizing and mximizing windows takes long. Switching between the windows too takes long. Now I can't see the cursor while typing this post.
After the launch of Steam Linux beta, you may have seen a big Tux logo on Steam client download page.
When visiting Steam download page from a web browser running on a Linux based OS, you are pointed to Linux version of Steam and a promo ad about Steam Linux beta is shown.

Valve is making lots of buzz lately.
In an intervirew with Cheerful Ghost, star Linux developer Ryan "Icculus" Gordon said that Unity3D game engine and Steam coming to Linux are good foundations to an awesome 2013.
