The big problem that is holding back Linux is games. People dont realize how critical games are in driving consumer purchasing behavior. We want to make it as easy as possible for the 2,500 games on Steam to run on Linux as well. Its a hedging strategy. I think Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space.

I don’t normally expect much to come out of Spike TV’s annual Video Game Awards, but Kotaku managed to score a gem of an interview with Valve co-founder and managing director Gabe Newell earlier this weekend.
Love knows no bounds, as the old saying goes, and there may be no better example than the Linux community's feelings for Valve. Gabe Newell has once again trashed Windows 8 saying users will probably 'rage quit' computing after using Windows 8.
