Hi all,I have a new HP dv6 with a fingerprint reader from Validity Sensors. Me, and a lot of other HP owners are unable to use the fingerprint reader, because there are no linux drivers for it (even fprint wouldn't recognize it). Now, the Validity sensor website has provided a linux setup for the reader, but it is only in rpm.
I have an HP laptop that came with the Validity fingerprint scanner. I downloaded the fingerprint GUI to configure it to respond to my prints but the program is telling me that the device can't be found. But the device is listed in the Attached USB devices with the pci.id numbers to go along with it.
Hi, I've installed openSUSE 12.3 in my Sony VAIO VPCSA3J1E.
My lsusb is listing:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 08ff:168f AuthenTec, Inc. AES1660 Fingerprint Sensor
I use this Fingerprint in Windows 7 Home Premium and in Ubuntu 12.04.2. It works.
In Yast2 the fingerprint is not recognized.
