First time poster here. I am trying to run Ubuntu on Windows 7 64-bit using Wubi. On my first couple of tries it gave me the "Extraction failed with code: 2". Then I manually downloaded the iso ubuntu-12.04.1-desktop-i386.iso (choosing the 64-bit version from the dropdown) to my desktop where the wubi.exe is. I'm still having the same issue.
I'm running Windows XP with all the latest patches.
I downloaded Wubi to my computer, installed it and ran wubi. Wubi downloaded the Ubuntu (I assume it was the 12.10 release) file and extracted the Ubuntu files. Next, it asked to restart the computer.
How to install ubuntu 12.04 LTS from the downloaded iso inside windows with wubi. Please tell me.I am using windows xp and windows7 (dual boot)
I have tried putting wubi and iso in one folder but then also i open wubi it is downloading from internet.
i am not being able to install ubuntu using wubi. after running wubi and selecting the drive and passwords etc. , the download starts but an error occurs which says
Unsubscriptable object
for more information, please see the log file: appdata\local\temp\wubi-11.10-rev245.log
my operating system is windows 7 64 bit. tried for all type of drives like primary and logical also. Please help.
Thanks!
Hi,
I would like to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my computer from Windows using Wubi, but I have a problem with it. Firstly I mount a CD image in a virtual drive via Daemon tool. Next I start Wubi, fill all installation fields, and then I click next. Then Wubi starts to extract files, etc.
I've used Ubuntu in the past, and wanted to check out the latest version. I downloaded an iso, grabbed a copy of wubi from ubuntu.com, and launched it.
I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 installed vie WUBI. MY question is can i install the program using WUBI or WUBI is a shorter version of Ubuntu 8.10 and that is the reason way i'm getting problems?
Please help :)
Tnx
I installed an older version of Ubuntu before with the Wubi installer. I then did an upgrade of the Ubuntu to the latest 11.10 version but this did not work well. Icons were missing in Ubuntu and it was pretty messed up (with no option to shut down Ubuntu etc.). I therefore completely uninstalled ubuntu from within Windows 7 64 bit and downloaded the new Ubuntu 11.10 Wubi.exe.
Hi,
I have been very happy with wubi 10.04 running alongside Windows (on two laptops running XP and 7, respectively).
Before finally moving to wubi 12.04 I'd like to run my old 10.04 together with the new version by using triple boot (XP /wubi 10.04 / wubi 12.04) or - on the other laptop (WIn7/ wubi 10.04 / wubi 12.04).
How can I do that?
