Using Ubuntu to create a non-adhoc wifi hotspot

http://askubuntu.com – I want to use my desktop with a wired ethernet connection (eth0) to operate my USB Wifi Adapter (wlan0) as a non-adhoc access point (so my android can connect to it). After MUCH searching, I finally found a method that works with about 95% of what I want. I modified "/etc/network/interfaces" to contain: auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth0 iface eth0 inet manual auto br0 iface br0 inet dhcp bridge_ports eth0 bridge_stp off bridge_fd 0 bridge_maxwait 0 My "/etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf" (which I had to write myself) contains: ### Guts ### interface=wlan0 bridge=br0 driver (HowTos)
