For a long time I used Google Voice for voicemail only (even though I had a phone number assigned for the account). At that time I had conditional call forwarding on my cell phone setup to forward to Google Voice, had my cell phone listed as a forwarding number, and Google Voice set to send calls made to my cell phone directly to voicemail.
You can’t say I didn’t give it an honest try. It was over a year ago now that I tried switching from an Android phone to the iPhone. The main reason I had waited so long was my tether to Google Voice – I’m all in there after porting my phone number to them a few years ago. And Google Voice never worked natively on the iPhone.
Until Sprint, that is.
I've had my number enabled with Google Voice for a while now.
Ive recently noticed an issue where the SMS app on my phone, whether it be stock, handcent, chomp, etc, will not receive the texts, but the GV app will. I go into settings in GV, and choose Messaging app to receive texts.
So I got my one, when it was being activated in the store there was an error of some sort and it came down to a google voice issue. It was eventually fixed after a number of calls but I left with it working. I came home and loaded it up with my apps and re activated google voice so i can text from the web etc etc.
I have a Galaxy S3 on Verizon. Google Voice is active and working. I'm not sure if this occurs with every call to my Google Voice number, but I have noticed that an audible voice ("press 1 to accept call ...") comes through even though I have the phone muted and Driving Mode is off. Is this a bug or is there something I'm missing to make the phone totally silent?
Been trying to setup Google Voice as my voicemail on my new Nexus 4. Originally I thought maybe I had to forward when unanswered to my Google Voice number. Then I found the Google Voice app, installed it, and configured my voicemail settings to use GV instead of My Carrier. I set up a message and everything.
Alright, so this Nexus 4 is going to be my first real phone. I have one now, but that's just a temporary one until my N4 arrives. So, first question.
1. Lets say I use Google voice to receive my calls. It will forward any calls made to my google voice number towards my carrier number. But, if I were to call someone, wouldn't that show up with my carrier number?
Ok, so i just signed up for google.com/voice#inbox and that was easy. when you click on 'call' it has 'Phone to call with' and under that it has 'google talk' or 'mobile'
i tried calling jetblue 800-538-2583 when they're open with both options and neither worked -- this also happened the first time i tried it last year
i thought it would just work... like skype..
So long story short had an Epic 4g Touch on Virgin Mobile's $25 plan but need unlimited minutes now so I switched to page plus 2 weeks ago in hopes of flashing my e4gt to page plus. But I missed the unlimited data so decided to go with a gsm gnex and straight talk.
