I just got started as a reseller and I'm in the process of building my hosting business website. I have no problem creating the user's account page with databases etc. but what I'm not sure of is how I link the buttons on their page to their cPanel using the database. Am I right in assuming that the cPanel URL would be different for every user?
I have a quick question. This is on elementaryOS, actually, but eOS is based on Ubuntu. :) I created a user account with the command:sudo useradd <username>. I then ran id <username> and it was detected. However, when I logged out of my administrator account and the login screen came up, there was only the admin account and the Guest account.
I've been looking around everywhere, but did not find any solution.
The thing is, first I had a logfile that was exploding, so my server quota was reached. After fixing that I got a blank page on user levels (nothing, just a blank HTML page).
So I'm trying to create a new user account. I typed 'sudo adduser --group --system [user]'. I'm not sure if I needed the --group --system, but I was trying to do this quickly and didn't exactly scour the man page. Then I typed 'sudo passwd [user]' to set the password.
My grand daughter uses her moms laptop and had a history of just clicking on everything and saying yes to downloads, etc. She is 11. With all the garbage that has been downloaded, I've had to restore the laptop twice.
This time around, I am going to set up a user account for my grand daughter.
