Just recently bought a Asus Nexus 7 and I find it an awesome device.
Unfortunately, I was surprised to see there is no option to turn my device into a wifi hotspot
or to share my nexus internet through USB to other computers.
thus I am now looking for apps that can help me achieve this
and would greatly appreciate anyone who has any recommendation for me..
p.s :- I tried wifi Hotspot a
In preparation for Jellybean breaking Foxfi's wifi tether I've been playing with Bluetooth and I have a question that I can't answer
When connected to foxfi on Bluetooth, many apps on my nexus 7 don't recognize the internet connection.
First off, my rezound is NOT rooted.
So I know this has been discussed but when using foxfi or a power widget, the verizon hotspot also turns on(ss below). Will this charge me or alter my plan you think? I don't have the share everything plan, just unlimited data so I don't have the hotspot on my plan. Just trying to find out if it's going to charge me, change my plan, or hopefully nothing at all. Thanks!
FoxFi is a great app but with the free version of foxfi you get knocked off the internet by the app and told to purchase the full version or restart app.
Don't want to pay your service provider or for an app to make your android phone a wifi hotspot?
This is how you hack foxfi and avoid getting knocked off the internet.
This method was tested on a samsung galaxy prevail (android 2.3.6 gingerbre
Hi all I'm hoping you can help me.
I have the R800a model of the Xperia Play, running 2.3.4, stock standard and not rooted.
I'm experiencing some very strange behaviour when I turn on wifi hotspot tethering on my phone. When I do, it seems some 3G functionality in the phone is lost.
In my ubuntu 11.10, i am using MTS usb modem for Internet connection and have created wifi-hotspot for accessing Internet in my android mobile.
As many of you know, most of our android(not only android) devices can't connect to ad hoc hotspots. There's a solution for win7/8 users to set up infrastructure hotspot on their laptop using software like connectify and so on. Ubuntu also allows to create wifi hotspot to share internet, but it will be ad hoc one.
So here's the guide how to set up infrastructure hotspot on ubuntu 12.04/12.10.
Wondering if using a free hotspot that turns on the native Verizon hotspot is fine or will Verizon charge me? I have unlimited data, with no share plan therefore it doesn't come with a courteous hotspot.
Basically I don't want the hotspot changing my unlimited data plan. I previously used foxfi but after the jellybean update, it started the native Verizon hotspot as well.
