my apartment has a very weak public wifi signal.
I recently bought a phone with Android ICS 4.0.4. I have use lan to connect to internet in my laptop. I created a ad hoc wifi network in laptop with internet sharing. I used to connect all my other devices through this connection to access internet. They all worked fine. But, not my ICS phone. The same phone is working well with wifi routers in my work place.
Hello, I bought used 8800pro, the seller told me that he upgrade it to version 2.35 but he is not sure if he did it correct...When check the phone was working and all was fine, but I did not check wifi. At home whenever I try to connect to wifi it shows : fail. It does not show list of net at all. I even restore factory , but nothing is helping.
I have internet access by ethernet and I want to use my notebook as a wifi point. I want to have internet access on various devices, too.
I am trying to make my notebook as wifi access point by using ad-hoc option.
Hello,
I'm new to the forum, and I've tried to get this working on my own, but I'm stumped and am hoping someone out there can help me out.
I just bought a shiny new Nexus 7 tablet and would like to tether it to my Galaxy S III phone. I'm currently on a pay as you go plan on my phone where I have an "internet browsing" plan (via SpeakOut).
I want to connect a PC to the internet via my notebook, which is connected to a WLAN.
The setup should look like the following scheme:
PC (eth0) -> Notebook (eth0) -> Notebook(wlan0) -> Router.
Both are running linux - arch on the notebook and funtoo on the PC.
Edit: So I tried rush's method and it didn't work for me, here is what I did:
PC:
ifconfig eth0 192.168.2.3
route add default
hi there,
I used to use WiFi tethering through my Samsung Galaxy SII and that worked fine for all net and FTP needs. However the Wifi just packed it in on the phone, so I'm having to tether via USB instead. Net all works fine until I try to FTP a file up - and the connection falls in a heap. I use Passive mode on FTP.
Anyone have any suggestions?
cheers,
cazz
Hi all I'm hoping you can help me.
I have the R800a model of the Xperia Play, running 2.3.4, stock standard and not rooted.
I'm experiencing some very strange behaviour when I turn on wifi hotspot tethering on my phone. When I do, it seems some 3G functionality in the phone is lost.
Yesterday i recieved the notification that 4.1.2 was ready for install on my stock yakju galaxy nexus. After the install i noticed i could no longer tether (that same day i had tethered my xoom over wifi pre update). Today i tried to tether with wifi, usb, and bluetooth and not one of them will work. I've reset the computers/tablets, i've reset the phone, and i'm 100% stock with no root.
