Dear Friends I am new to this forum and backtrack OS.Recently I installed backTrack 5 R1 64 bit on my laptop however i can not access internet through my wireless card although it is working on my Windows 7.The wireless card model is Intel pro 3945ABG.This is some basic command which i use in terminal to find out more about the problem:
root@root:~# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
I am relatively new to Linux and have been trying to use Backtrack 5 but it doesnt detect my wireless card so I cant connect to any wireless networks, I am using a Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC wireless card. I was wondering is there anything I can do like download drivers/patches etc. to make my internal wireless card work, or will I have to buy an external USB wifi adapter.
Is there any way for me to use my US Cellular GS3 with my ATT sim card? I did not realize I needed to buy an ATT phone when I purchased this one tonight, If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it..
Just to clarify, I have a US CELLULAR Galaxy s3 and I use ATT and have an ATT sim card. It is showing up as no sim card according to the phone. I just rooted it.

I have little experience with the command line other than running a server however this time i am clueless. i have no idea what wifi card i have and what drivers i need to get my wireless networking working with backtrack. please help!
Once I noticed Backtrack 4 R1 included significant improvements like the Linux Kernel 2.6.34, updated tools, expanded hardware support, and a full Fluxbox desktop environment, I decided to scout it out for myself. Here are some screenshots of this Backtrack 4 R1 release.
I just installed Backtrack 5 R3 Gnome 32bit on my other computer but it only takes up approximately 1/4 of the screen(the rest is black).
If I go to System->Preferences->Monitor it says "Monitor unknown".
So what could this be?

I have recently just downloaded ubuntu 11.10 and before i installed, wireless worked perfectly in windows. Now that i have downloaded and installed ubuntu, i know longer have windows. I do not have a wired connection at my house, only a mifi, so my computer is useless now without internet. I really like the functionality of ubuntu, but need internet.
