http://serverfault.com – I am starting HA proxy using the following command: sudo etc/init.d/haproxy start and I stop HA proxy using: sudo etc/init.d/haproxy stop How can I write a basic upstart script for sudo etc/init.d/something start or stop ? (HowTos)

I am new to HA Proxy and Upstart Scripting. I am using, HA Proxy version 1.4.18 2011/09/16. I am trying to write an upstart script that will keep haproxy alive in case haproxy dies. This is what I have so far:

script if [ $(pgrep haproxy) ]; then restart haproxy; else start haproxy; fi end script

I have mysql installed (from repos) on a development machine (laptop) and I don't need the daemon running on every boot. I've copied /etc/init/mysql.conf to /etc/init/mysql.conf.old and then removed everything following the "start on" line.

I'm trying to set up an Ubuntu (12.04 LTS) upstart script to manage Trac's built in web server as an upstream server for nginx.

Here is my init script /etc/init/tracd.conf.

I have a django app that i am looking to deploy. I would like to use upstart to run the app.

Upstart is installed, but init-checkconf is not. Any ideas how to get both?

Haproxy graceful reload 1 year 13 weeks ago

I was looking for a solution for graceful reload of haproxy. I have a nginx server running which passes requests to Haproxy and at times I reload the Haproxy configuration. But I am observing that at time of reloading all the existing connections are getting cut off and haproxy backend queue shows 0 requests ( got from socket stats of haproxy ) .

Hello Everyone, I'm using Gnome 2.30.2 with Ubuntu 10.4 would like to shut down X Windows properly. Using sudo init 3 from console 1 or a terminal on the Gnome desktop results nothing. There are a bunch of ways of doing accomplishing this that I've seen, but the most recommended methods each cause the same errors.

I'm trying to set up an Upstart job to run on system startup, and that can also be started/stopped by members of a group other than sudo.

Services failing to start 3 years 23 weeks ago

I have 2 services registered one for HAProxy and one for stunnel. When I type service start haproxy or service start stunnel they start and everything works fine. I ran ntsysv and they are set as autostart, and I have init.d scripts that work.

I have checked the runlevel and using chkconfig runlevel 3, 4 and 5 are :on.
