Upgrading kernel breaks dkms-bbswitch 2nd time

https://bbs.archlinux.org – Same thing happened to me but with catalyst-dkms.  I had installed catalyst 12.9 and xorg 1.13 previously and all was working fine.  I just now upgraded the kernel, rebooted and couldn't get in X.  I had to reinstall catalyst-dkms to get it to work (I actually removed catalyst-dkms, catalyst-utils, and lib32-catalyst-utils before reinstalling but probably wasn't neceisary).  Since I was using the offical package out of [community] I thought it would recompile itself with the kernel upgrade but apperently not. weirddan455 https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile. Get rid of that unoffical repository and use "catalyst-dkms", "catalyst-utils", and "lib-32-catalyst-utils" (optional only needed for 32 bit support) from the offical [community] repository.  It's using the 12.9 beta which I'm guessing is needed for the latest kernel and Xorg.  Alternatively, you can see if they have a "catalyst-test" pac

I don't use Catalyst, Intel here, but do you have "catalyst-dkms" installed?  My gross understanding is that will help reconfigure the proprietary driver properly when the kernel is updated?EditMentioned here:https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AT … repository

Are you using systemd? If so, you might have to reboot twice. The catalyst-dkms package (video driver for amd cards) in [community] currently has the same problems.

OK .. I had to reboot twice. Once for the dkms.service to do its thing and then another time so catalyst finds the new file.Thanks alot for your help!

Just saw your post...2 weeks ago i've been mailing with the user who had same issue, also on e350.The soultion was to downgarde to catalyst < 13.x.It was working fine on catalyst 12.10 + xorg112 (12.10 does not support xserver 1.13)use catalyst-12.10 and xorg112 repos, pacman.conf entries:[catalyst-12.10] Server = http://catalyst.wirephire.com/repo/catalyst/$arch
