http://forums.fedoraforum.org – I upgraded my system (using FC17 dvd) from fedora 16 to fedora 17. But when I type the command Code: uname -a in the terminal it says Linux whiteunicorn 3.4.9-1.fc16.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Aug 15 20:45:23 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux why is it showing fc16 and not fc17.....????:blink: :confused: (HowTos)

An update just showed up in the apper for kmod7-2.fc17, and that was when I realized that itwasn't installed in my system. Instead I had kmod 7-1.fc17.

ok, my first major upgrade and I chose the preupgrade path (i also tried preupgrade-cli).

I've had a major problem with upgrading from fc16 to fc17 that has left my system without any desktop, network connection and with a mixture of fc16 and fc17 packages.

At the moment I can run Fedora 17 with Kernel Linux 3.3.8-1.fc16.x86_64 But when I try to run the fc17 Kernel I get the message on bootup ..
