After reading that others have the same issues as I do with ICS (bad battery life, wifi connection problems, and the phone being sluggish) and a factory reset is the "fix" for this, I went ahead and did a factory reset. Surprisingly, the phone had automatically backed up everything..
I have a Galaxy S i-9003
(singapore version) and a few days
ago, i officially upgraded my phone from
v2.2 FROYO to 2.3.5
GINGERBREAD via kies software
now my problem is that when i
keep it for charging overnight, i
wake up in the morning only to
see that my phone has undergone
a factory reset process where ALL
of my data gats deleted and that
to this happens every day!!
First lets understand what a factory reset does. It removes all USER DATA and restores the phone back to factory settings providing that the phone is not rooted. User data is defined as apps, call logs, contacts, and anything else the user has placed in the phones memory. Stuff that is on the SDCARD is not affected by a factory reset.
Hi, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is my first android phone.
I've been playing around, downloading some apps and messing with all the settings for a day or two now and trying out a couple of things.
Hi all,
suppose that some apps has damaged my phone and I want to do a factory reset on a stock but promoted ROM.
May I damage the phone by factory reset a rooted stock ROM?
If yes how can I reset the phone?
I've done alot of deleting apps etc, to figure out why my phone is just sucking the hell out of my battery, both the factory battery and a Hyperion..
You think if i did a factory reset is might be better perhaps?
I have had my X2 for 8 months and had been having problems with several apps force closing and the phone generally lagging quite a bit even using apps like Fast Reboot and Air Droid and task managers to clear the cache. It is still unrooted so I decided to just do a factory reset. After the reset, I have noticed a considerable difference in app loading and performance.
As you know the latest Jelly Bean 4.1.1 (DLI) for Samsung Galaxy S III is vulnerable to the USSD reset:

Why is this an issue? AFAIK, it can be triggered via a "tel:" link from any web page.
I finally broke down and did a factory reset today to see if it would help my phone run better. After downloading most of the apps I had before the reset I began to get advertisements in my notification bar. I never got these before. Where might they be coming from and how do I disable them?
Thanks for any help!
