Before I go ahead, this fedora core 16 is running quite happily under vmware esx 3.5
# uname -ia
Linux hostname 3.6.6-1.fc16.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon Nov 5 16:56:43 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
ok, my first major upgrade and I chose the preupgrade path (i also tried preupgrade-cli).
I update almost every day:
[pedro@pedro-bedro ~]$ sudo yum --skip-broken update
For about 6 weeks now, maybe longer, I keep getting
Packages skipped because of dependency problems:
ffmpeg-libs-0.8.10-1.fc16.x86_64 from rpmfusion-free-updates
firefox-12.0-1.fc16.x86_64 from updates
gstreamer-plugins-bad-free-0.10.22-2.fc16.2.x86_64 from updates
gstreamer-plugins-bad-free

Just had a go at installing the new release and for the first time ever, the installer hangs at "Detect disks".When the "detecting disks" page loads, the progress bar fills up and quickly jumps to the "Detect disks" page, where it hangs.
I am a bit confused about my current kernel/kmod-nvidia update situation. When I run "yum check-update" I am confronted with the output below:
My EE running 2.2 allmine (for EE) has recently started hanging at the loading screen with three of the four dots lit up, just after the e-ink screen changes to the screen that reads "Initializing..." This started happening after I left the EE on all night and ran the battery out. I've charged it up but it won't finish loading when I turn it on :*(
I have an older laptop the "management" wants me to use instead of buying something that works. Not an antique but a couple years old. An HP with Turion AMD CPU, ATI video. When I try to install in graphical mode, it hangs after package selection. Doesn't matter whether I select server or workstation or customize. Just always hangs with the mouse frozen.
Hi guys, I installed Waldorf in January and did not do a major repo update until recently. When I rebooted, grub was messed up and started hanging on "Loading initial ramdisk". I wasn't sure what to do so I ran Boot-Repair on a USB drive. That sadly did not fix the issue but output all the data that should be needed for troubleshooting.
