http://androidforums.com – Hi! ive just got myself a htc desire S which is my 1st ever smartphone i might add and very pleased so far if a little overwhelmed at just how smart it is lol anyways i just got a notification saying android has a software update for me to download, it did warn me that it was a rather large download and i should use wifi for it - well i used my mobile network because i have no wifi connection where i am and watched in horror as it ate up my data usage (thanks to 3g watchdog app) so i discarded the download at about 6% as im near my 2gb limit with my network...... what i want to know is. (General)

I need help immediately. I kept getting a system update notification in my notification bar and couldn't remove it. Accidentally hit it and it started downloading the update. It got to 83% before I cut the wifi and mobile network. How do I kill this download and what is the file name so I can find it and erase it. I am rooted through revolution with a hboot 1.3 or 1.4.

Another noob question;

The N4 connects to my home network just fine.

But, how does the phone determine which network (wifi or mobile) it uses when moving data? I looked for somewhere to set the order of priority (use wifi first, then mobile) but couldn't find it.

I assume that the N4 uses wifi first, if available, then the mobile network if wifi isn't available.

I can't download anything big over my mobile network. If I connect to wifi, it works fine, and additional game data downloads (when you run a game and it asks you to download more data) work fine over carrier, but anything else through the market or from the browser doesn't work. It just hangs and says "Waiting for network".

I just got this phone and it is on hboot 1.12 and I want to keep it there so I can root. I just got the update notification. I seem to remember in past phones you could accept the update and then cancel to get rid of the notification. Right now my wifi is OFF and my mobile network is OFF. So I accepted the update thinking I could cancel.

I recently brought myself a Android and its awesome and i have rooted it ..... And i have also Using reverse tethring quite easily ... internet works quite goof ... :D

But ppl when i open Gameloft games ......

Hello everyone ! I have this problem, when i´m on my home wifi i can´t download or update apps from google play altough i get the notifications about available updates. When i click download or update is starts to downloading but it never shows percentage or any progress just the blue bar moving.

i havent been able to download and install mostly free apps for 3-4 days at home but strange i can download apps with 3g or another wifi network.i really dont understand why i cant download my apps which i can download at work wifi or 3g.

Hello everyone.

I'm wondering if anyone have had the same problem I have. Since my firmware update on Friday I have not been able to use my data properly. When I go to the app store I can't download apps. I used to be able to and now I can only do so with WiFi. I can't even updatey widgets like the weather network either. But with WiFi I can.

And now a new problem has arised.

Just installed 12.10 fresh. Using a run-of-the-mill Netgear N router, and a matching Netgear N USB dongle.

THE PROBLEM: I attempt to install anything using update manager, software center, or via apt-get, and I can download a few megabytes no problem, and then POW. No internet connection.
