Hoping someone can help.
I'm looking to be able to search a particular folder path for folders that contain certain files / formats and then move the parent folder.
eg.
/foo/bar/folder1/file.exe
/foo/bar/folder2/file.exe
and then move the folder1/2 tp another folder.
ok so i have verizon galaxy nexus rooted and unlocked bootloader i tried flashing jelly bean rom and it is stuck in boot screen on my phone...i downloaded odin and the drives phone connects and all is good with that but i downloaded the factory image from android developers imm76k tar file and i unzipped it to a folder like im suppose to but when i search for the file with odin the tar file doesn
I get cached disk file in the directory c:\arrCache_media\video. IIS
still got an handle on the file, so i can't rename, delete or re-write
the file. But i can move the file to another folder, so I try this
avenue to solve my problem.
I move my file entcadieux1.wmv.full in another folder a name Trash in
the path c:\Trash.
I'm trying to move all folders in "test" to the new folder "data"
move E:\test* E:\data\
but it does not work
The system cannot find the file specified.
move E:\test E:\data
this one works, but it copies also the test folder.

In the root of my drive there exists a folder called SourceControl that contains all the working copies of all my programming projects.
I would like to move the folder to my user directory (\Users\Me), but something about the permissions on the folder forbids me.
I understand that my Galaxy Nexus does not actually have an SD Card, but an SD card folder, right? So for best performance I can move some files, like most downloaded apps, to the SD Card folder. Maybe data files like eBooks, right? Then I get lost. I have downloaded a couple of apps that are supposed to help me move things to the SD Card, but I don't quite get how to move them.
I have a folder mxapp in /user/home/ directory.
I want to zip it to mxapp.zip and unzip it /user/home/temp/ to retrieve mxapp folder.
What is the command I need to use.
I'm worried about unzip . If I unzip mxapp.zip will it give me mxapp folder or mxapp folder contents ? I want mxapp folder after unzip
i have a directory "programs" which has two child directories "geo_heatfolow_sim" and "twamely_hall_shuffel"
i accidentally put a file in the geo heatflow folder instead of the twamely one, so i typed

to move it to the twamely folder, but it isn't in the twamely folder and "locate sim
