In the distro I'm most familiar with -- ALTLinux, a command like apt-get install kernel-image-std-def#3.0....
I have my new system working mostly how I want it to however I went to update tonight and noticed that it seems to be a more complete update. That is I think its attempting to upgrade to 12.04.1 and the new kernel.
Ubuntu 11.04 has many known issues posted on its release notes, one line said:
On certain systems, a bad interaction between Unity, the GL driver and the kernel may cause the system to hang. (740126)
This is a frequent screen frozen issue, and it’s said has something to do with the kernel.
I have a Baseband / 2.6.32 Kernel but i want to upgrade it to Baseband / 2.6.35 Kernel. because i want to install "IceColdSandwich by elol " Rom and it uses the newer kernel version. (My phone is Spice MI 410 Indian version )

If yes, then can i update it using SUT?
hi,
I have been using ubuntu for the last two years, mostly resolved issues from going through the forum here. Recently I updated my kernel image to 2.6.35-23-generic #40, but my wireless stop working. I have to drop down to 2.6.35-22-generic #35 which I am currently using to surf and post to get some help here.
The last two times I ran freebsd-update install the machine (re)booted from the GENERIC kernel instead of my custom kernel.
As suggested by Freebsd Update (section 25.2.2) I have a GENERIC kernel in /boot/GENERIC:
Note: It is a good idea to always keep a copy of the GENERIC kernel in /boot/GENERIC.
It will be helpful in diagnosing a variety of problems, and in performing version
upgrades using f
After I make some operations to update Kernel, my fedora 12 are stopped on the previous page of login, and also can not show the mouse point after the color of fedora logo changed from white to colorific in rebooting(it also spend several minues on this page, and then halt even I take a two hours' snooze and it still didn't change anything :( ).
That's the details:
Whenever Update mgr updates the kernel, on reboot I get the following error for the new kernel.
Bad or missing file.
Using grub, select the previous kernel. Boots fine, even though I would have gotten the same error after that kernel update. I always have to use grub to select the last kernel.
