How To Use Glx-Dock/Cairo-Dock On Ubuntu 12.04
Glx-Dock/Cairo-Dock is an interactive dock (like the one you know
from a Mac) that provides easy access to some of the files, folders,
and applications on your computer, and more. You can use it with
OpenGL (to use your graphics card) or without, and it is compatible with
Compiz, but it can also run without a composite manager.
is there anybody knows how to displayed top panel in cairo-dock session?
* if i choose cairo+gnome (no effect) .... the top panel is disappeared.
* if i choose cairo+gnome (with effect) or cairo+unity ... both the top panel & unity launcher is showed. if i disactivate the unity via compiz, both are disappeared.
please help me ..........
On a login screen there is:
* Cairo-Dock (GNOME+Effect)
* Cairo-Dock (GNOME+No Effect)
* Cairo-Dock (with Unity Panel)
Three option to choose.
But no matter what I choose (exclude GNOME+No Effect)
I still able to see the hidden Unity.
Is it normal? How can I turn-off the Unity?
Please guide me.
I recently installed cairo dock, and I love it. However, I miss my universal dock. Is there anyway I can get the Universal dock and cairo dock without the pesky unity dock on the side? I would prefer to keep the interface that opens with the windows key, but that seems to rely on the unity dock, and is optional.
tl;dr I want the Universal dock and the cairo dock without the unity dock

I've made custom Ubuntu with Ubuntu builder. I've installed gnome-shell and cairo-dock from chroot. I've removed Unity from chroot too.
I've edited /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf, changed user-session = cairo-dock and then I built the custom ubuntu. I then ran it on virtual box. LiveCD successfully showed the Cairo dock but when I change to user-session = gnome-shell, desktop shows unity panel.
