Tried bleachbit today for the first time and it seems great. Opened it up and tried to clean everything. It estimated that 2.93 GB would be freed. When I go to clean it I get permission denied for most of it. But not to worry because I can run bleachbit as root. When I preview as root 0 MB of space will be freed.
My application screen has all full-color icons, but bleachbit is something like 90% transparant (both icons: bleachbit and bleachbit as root). It works properly and I have reinstalled and autoremove+install but that does not fix it nor does rebooting. Does anyone know whats up?
I have installed BleachBit 0.8.7. Would it be possible to kindly let me know if BleachBit can be run as administrator of my account, please?
I would be most grateful for your help and advice. Thank you.
This is a very useful and easy program, which allows you to clean up you system and make it faster and fresh. bleachbit is free to download in Ubuntu Softwarecenter. You can clean up Cookies, Caches and many other things. I recommend this to all Ubuntu users. Subscribe for more Ubuntu videos.
I hadn't had the time or need to use my laptop (F20, with Xfce) for about a month. When I did, Tuesday, I took the time to update it with yumex. There were over 400 updates listed, including one for bleachbit. Alas, the update failed because of a package conflict in bleachbit.
Keeping your system clean can be a time-consuming affair, unless you use specialized tools like BleachBit. With just a few mouse clicks, this nifty little utility can help you to purge all the junk produced by the system and installed applications.
