Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal has been released and the servers were really busy last night. We have covered different aspects of Ubuntu 11.04 and its default interface Unity so far. Now we think its time for some more eyecandy stuff for Unity. Talking of Unity, it is itself a great interface with cool looks and enhanced usability.
My reaction to the latest version of Ubuntu can be summed up in just three words: Far from awesome! That impression largely results from the switch to the new Unity desktop. Canonical, the developer of the Ubuntu Linux operating system, released version 11.04, also known as "Natty Narwhal," on April 28.
Yo! Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal Beta 1 is now ready for download and testing. This release of Natty has gone through rigorous development and is now shining with Unity 3.6.8, latest Linux kernel, New wallpapers, Unity panel updates and much more. Ubuntu 11.04 has reached feature freeze and user-interface freeze. All the updates regarding new features and improvements in UI are almost done.
Hey guys!
Why is Ubuntu 13.04 still using Unity 6.6.0 when Ubuntu 12.10 has Unity 6.8.0?(Or some other version) I created a USB with a persistent space on it. Installed all of the Ubuntu 13.04 updates, and it was still on Unity 6.6.0. Since Unity 6.8.0 was released all the way back in October it seems like we should have the latest Unity version.

Thanks to LLVMpipe, a computer that isn't capable of running Unity 3D is getting the same experience without the Compiz effects.
But what if i don't want Unity 3D at all? I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 that's capable to run Unity 3D, yet it's slow. Very slow. Unity 2D, however, is faster. How do i enjoy the snappiness of 2D from 12.10?
