Actually, recently I have started using isync/mbsync, which I think is a better solution than the other combinations (offlineimap, or syncmaildir+getmail). It can do anything that I want to do with offlineimap, and so far has been quite reliable. So I recommend isync/mbsync highly to any one who wants to sync offline Maildir with IMAP servier.

Thunderbird can be configured to work seamlessly with Google's Gmail service. Messages are synchronized between your local version of Thunderbird and the web-based Gmail.

Evolution on F17 is crashing here with a POP Gmail account.
I moved my Gmail account IMAP to POP a few weeks ago. Everything is archived at Gmail, so the way I use mail the POP vs IMAP differences are minimized. I have several accounts; all are forwarded to Gmail. POP keeps things simple.
I just set up Evolution via "Online Accounts" in Systems Setting.
I've installed mutt + offlineimap, with the help of brisbin's mutt config. However, I don't like putting passwords in plaintext, so I've set up my .offlineimaprc to read from gnome-keyring, using this Python script. This works well if I run "offlineimap -o -u quiet" at the command-line manually.
Hi to all.
I had a POP account associated to a gmail account on TB 15 installed on Kubuntu Gnu/Linux OS.
Then I decided I wanted that gmail account to be treated as an IMAP account.
Why is the version of offlineimap in the YaST repository ridiculously out of date?

My Stratosphere worked fine but in the last few days (maybe since the system update) My Gmail will not sync in the stock email app. It works fine on the Gmail app...
It keeps giving me a sync error and wont' let me delete emails in the gmail account of the stock email app that already exist.
I don't like to use the Gmail App, always used the exchange setting which, unfortunately, isn't working anymore. So when I started using the stock HTC mail app for setting up Gmail accounts, which uses IMAP, I had the problem of 3 new labels being created in Gmail! IMAP/Trash, IMAP/Sent & IMAP/Draft. Also syncing didn't work right!
