https://bbs.archlinux.org – Using XFCE I can set the default browser from settings/Preferred Applications to either google chrome or firefox both of which are installed. I set chrome as preferred and can get online no problem. The setting will stay for sometimes days or maybe a few minutes before the system 'forgets' what preference has been set and reverts to no preference set.Using thunderbird to open links in emails always opens Firefox despite the default browser being set to chrome. In fact firefox always stays set as default browser under preferences/general and I can have firefox and chrome open at the s (HowTos)

Hey everyone, quick question for you guys. I've been using Google Chrome as my Default Web Browser ever since its launch, so as usual, it was one of the first things I downloaded and installed on my new OpenSuse 11.3 KDE 4.4 laptop.

During the install, I selected to make it my Default Web Browser, but Mozilla Firefox keeps over writing my choice.

I'm using Google Chrome as default web-browser because i need Flash ang i've installed Firefox back to use with Webapps, because Chromium, that i tried to use before, launched through script, taking Pepper Flash from Chrome, isn't working correctly: Webapps are crashing, clicking on their icons in Launcher or in Messaging menu does nothing and by clicking on web-links from the other applications,

I have Dropbox installed on my Ubuntu desktop 12.10, I also have Firefox and Chrome installed. Chrome is my default browser, I have checked in my mimeapps.list and its all correct.

Firefox or Chrome? 6 weeks 2 days ago

I have been using Chrome on my Samsung Galaxy Exhilerate ever since I got it. I noticed the Chrome was remarkably slower than my default Browser. My question is, who all has downloaded and used Mozilla Firefox? I enjoy the UI of Firefox much more than Chrome. As far as I've used Firefox, the speeds seem to be greater than or equal to Chrome. What's everyone else's opinion?

During the Ubuntu Developer Summit – Oneiric, we reported that there were discussions about Chrome (or rather, its open source version, Chromium) replacing Firefox as the default browser in Ubuntu 11.10 “Oneiric Ocelot”.
