Thanks @tomk, I have / partition of a lesser size than the /usr so simple copy may nt work. Also there is a problem of symlink etc so wanted some idea of expand root and move/cp /usr into it. I recently, erased all data on my SD card (using the "Erase SD card" option in settings > storage). Once this had completed the total space went back up to 7.4GB but available space went to 0.00B! I've rebooted the phone, unmounted and re-mounted the SD card and still available space is set to 0!
What could I possibly be doing wrong?

I recently updated my Acer Liquid Mini to 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but now I cant move any application to SD card. I'm not talking about the system apps or something, but I want to move some games to SD card to save space, but it keeps showing that error:
