Unable to install 12.04 on HP Pavilion G6

http://askubuntu.com – I am using USB memory stick to install Ubuntu 12.04 in my HP laptop. It has 1GB ATI Radeon graphics. As soon as I click install Ubuntu or run Ubuntu, the screen goes blank. I tried to open terminal mode using: Ctrl+Alt+F1 But that didn't help. Does anyone have the same problem? How do I resolve this? (HowTos)

I have Hp Pavilion g6 Laptop with 1 GB AMD Radeon HD 6470 Graphics card. When i tried to install Fedora 16 and Fedora 17, my Laptop screen goes blank and nothing appear after long time, it just allows me to install fedora 16 it in Basic graphics mode only.I needs to install fedora on laptop.can anybody help?

Hi guys, ok so the last post didn't get any replies possibly because the way I worded it made it sound more than it actually is. I'm guessing by now that everyone has heard of the infamous blank/black screen after install?

Hey,

I wanted to install Ubuntu-9.10 in my laptop, currently which has both windows and ubuntu-9.04. I'm trying to make it fully into linux box.

I downloaded ubuntu-9.10 from ubuntu site and with 3rd party software( sorry forgot the name ) copied the ubuntu folder to the usb stick.

I have tried Ubuntu = live CD loads to blank screen. Was able to load by F4 I think it was and selected safe graphics. Fedora = Never even saw anything; no choices to make; totally blank. Suse= Did the install and blank screen; selected safe mode= still blank. I have a Dell Laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 and 1Gb RAM. Default Res 1600 x 900.

I'm really frustrated with the a new laptop I bought few months ago because I am just unable to install Linux on it. It's an HP pavilion G4 1364. Short specs: Core i3 2,2Ghz with Intel graphics (yuck), 4gb ram, 500gb HDD, Radeon HD 7390M.

I am having difficulties trying to get Ubuntu 11.10 to work. For the 11.10 version, if I click install, or if I click try ubuntu, I get a blank screen, and it just stays there.

I am not unable to install Ubuntu on my Hcl me laptop .But when i tried with fedora it works .

I didn't understood what the problem was so i tried Ubuntu versions 11.04,10.04 ,11.10 ,12.04.the result is same it gets freezes before the welcome screen and when i tried swecha it's also working .

Please help me when i tried with Wubi the problem is same .

Iam trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop edition. I downloaded it from Ubuntu releases page using torrent file( Ubuntu Live DVD). When I start install with the option Try ubuntu choosen, it hangs at purple screen. Iam able to switch by pressing Alt+Ctrl+F1. Instead if I choose, Install ubuntu option, it hangs with a blank screen which just shows a mouse cursor.

I just bought an HP Pavilion m6- 1045dx laptop with windows 7 pre-installed. I am unable to install ubuntu alongside windows, so I am considering replacing windows completely.
